Using Domino Administrator to Change Lotus Notes Password 

You can easily unlock NSF file password or reset NSF file password with the help of Domino Administrator. But this method is only suitable if your NSF file is saved in the Shared Network Folder. Just follow these simple steps to recover NSF file password-

• Open Lotus Notes Email Client and enter your login Id credentials.
• If the password is correct it will take you to the dashboard of Lotus Notes, otherwise a “Recovery Window” will open. There choose the “Password Recovery” option.
• To reset the password choose your Lotus Notes ID file.
• When you enter the ID a list will appear now, choose any one recovery administrator entity and call them to assist you with resetting Lotus Notes password.
• Once you call them, they will provide a 16 characters long password, now enter the password in the “Enter Password” option.
• Your Lotus Notes ID will be unlocked as soon as you enter the password, now complete the necessary password reset process.
• Now choose a new password and finally click on “OK” button.

Note:- You must know your Notes id (which is saved in Notes/Data directory) to unlock it. You cannot reset Lotus Notes password if you didn’t remember the Notes ID. We can also say that this is one of the drawbacks of this method.
