Amazon.com lets you use purchase and use prepaid cards for most purchases, but certain restrictions apply.

Prepaid gift cards can be used to make purchases from any merchant where the card is accepted.

You can purchase physical, digital or virtual prepaid gift cards on the Amazon website:

  • Physical and digital cards can be used in-store or online. Digital cards can also be added to your phone wallet.
  • Virtual cards can only be used online. Virtual cards cannot be used at physical stores.

All cards are activated at the time of purchase. Merchants may require you to register your cards prior to use. Visit the specific product page on the Amazon website for additional details such as restrictions, usage details and registration requirements.

When used as a payment method on Amazon, the following restrictions apply to prepaid Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards:
