Advanced Search Sir Reginald Carey ‘Rex’ Harrison was recognized as a powerhouse of English stage and film circle. He was famous for his most memorable roles as Henry VIII in the play ‘Anne of the Thousand Days’, as Julius Caesar in the film ‘Cleopatra’ and as Professor Henry Higgins in the movie ‘My Fair Lady’. His power packed performance in ‘My Fair Lady’ won him a ‘Golden Globe Award’ and an ‘Oscar’. Though he was highly respected for his acting caliber, he had the reputation for being adamant and often belittled his fellow actors. His marital life was never happy and fulfilling. One of his wives committed suicide after splitting up with him. It is believed that he was the reason behind starlet Carole Landis’s suicide.
