Actually, holding down on a web link will result in a contextual menu allowing you to open in another window, another tab, give the Share options and so on, so the iPad does have a “right click” in a manner of speaking.

Where are you trying to do this?

This does not work on iOS/iDevices.

On iOS on some iPhones if press down lightly with a finger and hold on the screen, this is called 3D touch.

iPads do not have 3D touch.

Sorry.

That's true.

This is setup in a lot of other apps, as well

I do this all day long by habit, for years, while doing things that, yes, this is sort of like doing a mouse-like right click.

I never really think about it as a “right click”.

"Interesting".

There is no need for a right click on an iPad.

use index finger on your right hand :-)

What or who exactly told you long hold equals to right click?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Perhaps an instruction on a particular app tells him to long press something to open up a menu, just like a right mouse click would do.

I don’t think of it as a right click either, but it performs the same function as a right click.
