Chevron ChevronFrequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to the most common questions about Plant Pods. Have more questions? Visit our Support Page What's so special about Click & Grow Plant Pods? PlusOur Plant Pods are composed of a proprietary all-in-one growth medium made of coconut coir and peat. It takes care of key factors for plant growth that typically require specialized knowledge and care, like sowing seeds and providing optimal pH and moisture levels as well as nutrients. Combined with our garden’s passive watering system and grow lights, it creates the optimal growing environment for each plant to thrive, without the hassle.
How are Click & Grow plants different from other plants? PlusWe use the highest quality, non-GMO seeds that are rigorously tested to ensure growth performance and lack of pesticides. When grown in our gardens, they have a higher success rate than other growing methods. Compared to store-bought produce, our edible plants are significantly fresher, more nutritious, and have a noticeably better taste and smell.
What is the shelf life of Click & Grow Plant Pods? PlusUnopened Click & Grow Plant Pod packs last about one year, after which growth success rates decline. To maximize longevity, store them in a cool, dry and dark place. Visit our support page for more info. Since the seeds are the part that expire, experienced users often repurpose old pods by removing the original seeds or sowing new ones directly on top of the old ones.
How much effort is needed to grow Click & Grow plants? PlusWhen grown in a Click & Grow garden, all of our plants require less knowledge and care compared to any other method of growing plants. Still, each plant comes with a set of simple care steps to help it thrive. Leafy greens usually just require harvesting, herbs benefit from gradual trimming, flowers do well with deadheading, and fruiting plants need thinning and pollination. For detailed guidance, visit our support page or app page
How long do plants last in Click & Grow gardens? PlusWe recommend growing leafy greens for up to 6 weeks, most herbs for up to 12 weeks, flowers for 12-18 weeks, and fruits up to 21 weeks, before their flavor or appearance begin to decline. Typically, these recommended times are shorter than the plants’ actual lifespan because growing plants beyond these times in Click & Grow gardens can lead to overcrowding and reduced quality. Using our Pro Cups or transplanting the plants to soil can extend their life and boost yield. For specific growing times and care tips, visit our support page or app page
