• Step 3: Therefore, 5.803 ≈ 5.80 (where ≈ is the symbol for approximation)

Note: When we have the number, 9, at the hundredths place, then if the thousandths place digit is less than 5, then we can simply write 9 and ignore all the digits after that. But, if the thousandths place digit is 5 or greater than 5, then we need to add 1 to 9, which makes it 10. So, at the hundredths place, we write 0 and add 1 to the tenths place digit.
