Westbrook deleted all Lakers, Wizards and Rockets content from his Instagram

With the exception of his profile picture, Russell Westbrook just deleted all posts from his Instagram related to the Los Angeles Lakers, but he didn't stop there.

Westbrook also removed all pictures from his time with the Houston Rockets and the Washington Wizards. The only pictures he left up are from his tenure with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the franchise that drafted him to the NBA in 2008.

His time with the OKC Thunder saw him accomplish some of the most important milestones of his career. Westbrook won the league's MVP award in 2017 after watching Kevin Durant bolt for the Golden State Warriors.

The only time Brody reached the NBA Finals was with OKC in 2012, where he also made the Western Conference Finals four times. Since then, Westbrook has only made it as far as the Conference Semifinals.

It's no secret that Westbrook had the worst season of his career in his first year as a Laker. When he joined the Purple & Gold, Brody was coming off a fourth time in five years of averaging a triple-double, a feat that had only been accomplished once by Oscar Robertson in 1960-61.

His time as a member of the Lake Show was highly-scrutinized by fans and media, and Westbrook never took the criticism in stride. Instead, the 33-year-old guard blamed the organization for not letting him be himself, and both parties are likely looking to part ways in the offseason.

Still, that won't be an easy task due to him probably opting into his $47.1 million salary for next season before asking for a trade. In order to join another team, that franchise will need to pay for Westbrook's large salary.

Westbrook is also not hiding the fact that he doesn't want to return to Los Angeles. He recently liked a comment on Instagram of a fan asking him to do everything in his power to leave the Lakers.

The most realistic scenario is that the Lakers will hold onto him until the NBA trade deadline in 2023. But now that he pulled a Kyler Murray by deleting all pictures of the Lakers from his IG while leaving those from his days with the Thunder, it's possible that he'll take a paycut to go back to the one place where he always felt at home.
