CAMP CAVALIER

“Too many people are afraid to make a mistake. Accepting failure helps students develop a growth mindset, which will serve them well for the rest of their lives.”

“What I hope I see is a student body that feels they are empowered to name any issue that they see– it's their campus. We want every student and faculty member to see this as their home.”

“Being able to be yourself in a safe space is nice; everyone knows you and there is less judgment. There is no culture of having to be perfect at everything, this is a community here to support you.”

"I met genuinely kind people here, and I can't stress how important it is that when you feel comfortable, you do better in academics, sports, everything."

“The garden belongs to everybody. Everybody does the work. Everybody does the chores. And everybody shares the bounty. So there's a lot of taking care of each other that way.”

"The learning system at Country Day revolves around one's passion. Every schedule is customized to pursue your dreams, and the flexible environment enables me to excel in my passions inside and beyond the classroom."

Our social media is the most up-to-date (and fun) way to stay informed about the magic of being a Cavalier.

Celebrating Black History Month Celebrating Black History Month

Last week, we hosted an 8th - 12th grade film screening in honor of Black History Month featuring the film John Burris, followed by a Q&A with legendary civil rights attorney John Burris, known for defending Rodney King, Tupac Shakur, and Oscar Grant. The film is produced by Country Day class of '83 alum Brian Spencer, an acclaimed film documentarian.

Supporting Student Resilience in Challenging Times Supporting Student Resilience in Challenging Times

At a recent Parents' Association meeting, families gathered for a thoughtful presentation by Dr. Jeremy D. Greene, school psychologist and faculty member at the University of the Pacific, on burnout, resilience, and promoting healthy growth in our children and teens.

Speech and Debate Superstars! Speech and Debate Superstars!

Ethan and Prthvi earned part of their qualification at Stockton's University of the Pacific, and another at the John Lewis Invitational (at which they were co-champions). They are slated to continue representing Country Day at the remaining two largest debate tournaments in NorCal: James Logan High School and UC Berkeley. Depending on their results at those tournaments, they may qualify for the Gold division of the TOC.

We appreciate the magnitude of their achievement, as it is truly a rare moment to have a team qualify for the Tournament of Champions in our Sacramento-area schools, and wish them good luck in Kentucky in April!
