​​​Hollywood actor Chris Evans, who is popular for his portrayal of ‘Captain America’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has tweeted that he will not be returning in his role of Captain America. In his tweet, Chris Evans wrote ‘Sam Wilson is the new Captain America’. The role of Sam Wilson is currently played by Anthony Mackie in the Marvel Universe.

The news left marvel fans broken who enjoyed watching Chris Evans in the role of Captain America over the years. The role of Sam Wilson is currently played by Anthony Mackie in the Marvel Universe.Soon after Evans’ tweet went public, netizens started responding in displeasure, with most of them condemning this surprise pull off by Evans. One of the Twitter user wrote that he is happy to see Sam Wilson as Falcon and the role of ‘Captain America’ should have ended like that ‘Iron Man’ with Chris Evans helming it. Another user wrote that Steve Rogers is the forever Captain America, and the title shouldn’t be handed over to someone else like a trophy or shield.On the other hand, many marvel fans are trying to make peace with this change. One of the Twitter user wrote that while he is a Steve Rogers fan till the end, he has accepted that the shield has been passed from Steve to Sam. While he will miss Steve Rogers being the Captain America, it’s not going to change the fact that Sam Wilson will be the new Captain America.
