1. In 1967 or 1968 I was the pharmacy clerk at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Sammy Davis was there visiting his wife and he went to the Hospital cafeteria to eat lunch. I went to the cafeteria for lunch and because the hospital was hosting some large conference for medical personnel all the tables were occupied. There was 1 empty chair across a small table where Mr. Davis was seated. I had my tray of food so I walked to his table and asked if I could sit with him as all the other chairs were occupied. He said “of course you can sit with me. Put your stuff down and have a seat. We had a wonderful 2 hours sitting there and I did get into trouble when I returned to work. Mort okay with it after I explained what had happened. He was such a darling man. I told him that I had read his book “Yes I Can” and I was so happy to meet him after all these years. I will never forget this kind gracious man.
