What’s new with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series?
There are a couple of notable differences between the Galaxy S22 Series and the Galaxy S23 Series. Firstly, the Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with the first 200-megapixel sensor to feature on a Samsung handset, with Super Quad Pixel for enhanced autofocus. This is a huge leap forward compared to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which top sensor sat at 108 megapixels.
AdvertisementIt will be able to shoot in 8K at 30fps with a wider angle – from 57 to 80 degrees – with a bigger pixel size for better overall quality. This 200MP sensor combines 16 pixels into 1 to enhance the lighting in photos, with improved camera AI to keep your snaps looking consistent.

The S23 Ultra also comes with a new selfie camera at 12MP – along with the base and Plus models – boasting support for autofocus, Super HDR and 60fps for more dynamic range in photos.
Unlike the S22 Series, the S23 Series has improved on the Expert RAW file format, with uncompressed data from the image coming straight from the sensor. They can also now shoot in 50MP compared to the 12MP output of its predecessor, with a new Astrophotography feature that can accurately capture night skies without the need for equipment, such as a constellation guide.
Pairing the Galaxy S23 Series with the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro also gives users the chance to record 360-degree audio, ideal for anyone looking to record immersive and accurate audio for a project or soundtrack.
Samsung has improved the battery on its latest handsets, with the S23 Ultra boasting a 5000mAh battery. The S23 Plus features a 4700mAh battery while the base S23 model uses a 3900mAh, which is a 200mAh improvement over the previous S22 Plus and S22 base models.

Out of the three new handsets, the Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts the most impressive specs when compared to its new siblings. You can check out an in-depth look at the specs of each handset below.
