Satellite Beach is a coastal city situated in Brevard County, Florida. The population was 10,418 at a 2014 Census, and it is located with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Banana River to the west. It is located directly south of Patrick AFB.

Get in[edit]

By Car[edit]

Satellite Beach can be accessed by Florida State Route 528 (Pineda Causeway), which crosses the Indian and Banana Rivers and Merritt Island heading east from Interstate 95 and US-1; A1A parallels the coast and provides access from the north and south. SR-513 (S Patrick Dr) also goes north/south through town.

By plane[edit]

Satellite Beach, like its neighboring cities of Cocoa Beach, Indian Harbour Beach and such, are primarily serviced either by Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) in Melbourne, or Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Orlando.

There are no commercial bus or train stations in Satellite Beach. The closest Greyhound bus stations are in West Melbourne at 4520 W New Haven Ave and in Rockledge at 3210 Fiske Blvd (bus stop only). The closest Amtrak train station is in Kissimmee at 111 East Dakin Ave.

Get around[edit]

By car, taxi, or rideshare service are the most popular ways. Many popular destinations are within walking or bike-riding distance. The Space Coast Area Transit bus system has stops in and around Satellite Beach.

See[edit]

Due to its proximity to (on) the Atlantic Ocean, the majestic morning sunrises are always a treat to see. The sunsets over the Banana River can also be a sight to behold.

Do[edit]

Go to the beach! It's obviously the city's biggest attraction, there are plenty of parks and beach accomodations, and there's free parking in all areas.
