Introduction

Scott Baio is an American professional actor and television director with an estimated net worth of $4 Million.

Early Career

Scott Baio started playing the title character in Bugsy Malone alongside Jodie Foster in 1976. Soon after, he was cast as The Fonz’s cousin Chachi in Happy Days, one of the best TV shows ever. At the same time, he starred in the TV films Stoned and All the Kids Do It, which earned him two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Baio won two Young Artist Awards and starred in the specials Senior Trip and The Boy Who Drank Too Much.

TV Career

Starting in March 1982, Scott Baio starred alongside Erin Moran in the Happy Days spin-off show Joanie Loves Chachi. However, the show was canceled after just 17 episodes, and the pair returned to Happy Days.

While playing an aspiring singer on the show, Baio signed a record contract with RCA Victor and used his TV fame to start his music career. Unfortunately, instead of becoming one of the wealthiest singers in the world, Baio’s music career never took off. Thankfully, he still had his TV career to fall back on, and his popularity on the small screen wasn’t waning.

In 1982, Baio starred in Zapped! and in the HBO unique adaptation of the play Happy Birthday Gemini. Baio also made several episodes of Battle of the Network Stars and the comedy series Charles in Charge. From 1987 to 1991, he directed the children’s comedy series Out of This World and continued starring in shows as an actor.

An Established Actor

Throughout the 1990s, Scott Baio appeared in several TV series, including Jack’s Place, Can’t Hurry Love, and The Nanny. In 1991, he became a prominent cast member of the series Baby Talk and directed one episode. After that, he joined the main cast of Diagnosis: Murder, which ran from 1993 to 1995.

Entering the 2000s, Baio landed a role in Arrested Development with Jason Bateman and was a recurring character for five episodes. He then starred in the 2007 VH1 reality series Scott Baio Is 45… and Single and Scott Baio Is 46… and Pregnant. At the same time, Baio was the co-host of the VH1 series Confessions of a Teen Idol, where former child stars attempt to revamp their careers.

From 2012 to 2015, he produced and starred in the comedy See Dad Run and guest-starred in the Nickelodeon show Sam & Cat.

Controversies

Scott Baio has also drummed up some controversy alongside his acting career, especially in recent years. In 2016, he called then-president Barack Obama a “Muslim sympathizer” in response to his decision not to say “radical Islamic terrorism.” The following year, he re-tweeted a Sandy Hook conspiracy theory meme, insinuating the elementary school shooting was a hoax.

Most recently, he was accused of sexual misconduct by Nichole Eggert, who claimed he’d molested her when she was 14. He has also been accused by Charles in Charge co-star Alexander Polinsky of verbal and physical abuse while on set.
