Synopsis

They thought life was about to return to what passes for normal in Freeridge. Instead, the stakes get even higher for Monse, Ruby, Jamal, and Cesar.

Summary

The head of Santos, Cuchillos, is responsible for the four being kidnapped, and she’s impressed with their involvement in finding the Rollerworld money and taking down the Prophets. And because of this, she wants their help in finding Lil Ricky, who she believes is alive and well.

This presents a problem for Monse, who was planning to leave and now has to delay her plans. Even though she secretly harbors a plan to leave, Cuchillos shows up to remind her she absolutely can not – or else she's going to hurt her father. And because it’s frightening when a mobster shows up in your room in the middle of the night, Monse immediately goes to Cesar for comfort.

The two are broken up? Maybe? Sort of? I guess so? Well, according to her, she just needed a “warm body” so I guess we can assume they are not a couple. Bummer. Meanwhile, Ruby’s family is dealing with some financial issues and it’s causing a rift between his parents. And now Ruby’s dad is sleeping in his room, making it difficult for Ruby to attend to some *ahem* personal matters in the privacy of his room.

But the money Cuchillos would give back to them would help Ruby’s family out a lot, so there’s one major incentive for Ruby to make sure they find Little Ricky (along with Jamal who has to pay his dad back). Unfortunately, being shot in season 1 is still something Ruby is dealing with, and this whole ordeal isn’t making it easier.

Jamal gets right to work with trying to figure out this Little Ricky mystery and recruits Cesar’s brother, Oscar, to help him with it. They dig up Ricky’s grave only to find one of Chivo’s gnomes inside of it instead of a body.

Jamal realizes he's being stalked by a girl in green so he tells Cesar that they need to find Lil Ricky fast. However they know that they're gonna need help so they go to the last person they wanted to ask: Jasmine. She agrees to help them with their mission.

Cesar and Oscar's father, Ray, gets back from prison. Cesar wants to bond with him but Oscar is less than thrilled by his appearance.

During this Monse and Jasmine develop a friendship and Jamal learns about the girl who has been following him, Kendra. They develop a romance, which Ruby and Jasmine slowly do as well.

After getting drunk at a festival Monse kisses Oscar. Cesar and Monse get back together, but Monse hears that her mother, Julia, has died. Monse is conflicted about this because it was her mother but her mother put her and her father through a really hard time. So after a heartbreaking conversation with her father and Ruby, Monse decides to put her mother behind her for good. While at the reception Jamal runs into Rose, and secretly uses her to get information on Lil Ricky. Ray also decides to leave as well to give his sons a better life.

The crew goes to the taping of a music video, and try to find who they think is Lil Ricky. They come up short due to the guy not speaking Spanish therefore not being Lil Ricky. They go to Rose's house and find out that Cuchillos wants to kill Lil Ricky and them. So they decide to kill her first.

Oscar stops working for her and devises a plan to stop Cuchillos. However not returning for a few days has Cesar worried. So after some back and forth the core four decide to kill Cuchillos themselves. They go into the woods and while there they also have an argument about how they got here in the first place. They soon discover that 19th Street already killed Cuchillos so the crew can leave safe. When they get home, Ruby and Jasmine become an official couple, and Jamal gets back with Kendra. Spooky also calls a truce between 19th Street and The Santos. So Spooky decides to put the gang stuff behind him and start a new life, while Cesar starts to do the opposite.

Monse asks the crew when they want to hang out, but none of them answer due to their fight still being fresh in their minds, so Monse decides to stay because she doesn't want them to fall apart. However Cesar convinces her that they'll always be apart of each other so they'll never forget each other.

Monse is all packed and saying her final goodbyes to the crew. They give her a picture of all of them, a backpack, and a kiss (from Cesar) before all going in for a group hug. Monse asks them to always be friends and to promise her nothing will change, which they say.

Then there's a flash forward 2 years later.

Monse is happy and safe at her all girls' boarding school, Jamal joined the football team, Ruby is still in his relationship with Jasmine, Oscar is out of the gang and has a wife and a baby on the way, and Cesar is now the head of the Santos. So everything changed.
