1. Introduction: Secure Honeywell Smart Thermostat

Locking your Honeywell Thermostat is a good way to keep guests or children from changing your thermostat’s settings while still letting you and your family adjust your home’s temperature within the range you’ve set. Unless someone has the four-digit PIN that you create when locking your Honeywell Thermostat, they won’t be able to unlock the thermostat or change any of the thermostat’s settings.

2. Honeywell Smart Thermostat: Determine Product Type

Honeywell Thermostats:

• Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat

• Lyric Round Wi-Fi Thermostat - Second Generation

• Lyric T5 Wi-Fi Thermostat

3. Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat: Change Lock Mode

You can adjust security options to prevent unauthorized changes to system settings.

1. Touch Settings and select Security Settings.

1. Select Change Lock Mode.

1. Select an option and follow prompts:
2. Unlocked: Full access allowed.
3. Partially locked: Only temperature can be changed.
4. Fully locked: No access allowed.

1. You can choose to use a password for additional security too.

4. Lyric Round Wi-Fi Thermostat: No Screen Lock

The Lyric Round Wi-Fi Thermostat does not offer a thermostat screen lock.

5. Lyric T5 Wi-Fi Thermostat: Screen Lock

1. On the thermostat home screen, touch Menu.
2. Touch the Arrows until you see Screen Lock, then touch Select.

1. Touch the Arrows to choose your screen lock setting, then touch Select.
2. Partial Lock: Only the temperature can be changed.
3. Full Lock: No access is allowed without a PIN number.

1. Write down the Pin number that will appear on the screen and keep it in a safe place.
2. Touch Select, and confirm your screen lock setting by touching Yes.
