Affected units include AssureLink models from LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Sears. Garadget may not tap into that communication, but it can “press” the button of a spare remote. Here is an example of a successful setup by @xNinjas. Some of the compatible remotes are 882LM, 883LM 891LM which at the time of writing can be purchased for under USD 20. Please post your questions and install reports with your Security+ 2.0 units. In the instructions below - it’s mentioned that you can use an 883LM remote to hardwire the Garadget to the opener by soldering the relay wires to the button contacts on the 883LM. However, the owners manual for the Liftmaster does not recommend attaching a second hardwired wall unit to the device and instead recommends purchasing a wireless remote. Has anyone managed to connect a second wired wall mounted button to the Liftmaster? If so, was it necessary to have it “learn” the connection with the device? G garadget December 18, 2016, 4:48pm 3 Researching your questions I stumbled upon this 883LM version, at $6.5 shipping included and customers reporting in reviews that they were able to use that as add-on to the existing wall terminal. @G3P0, Please specify the model of your LiftMaster and also provide a picture if not too much trouble. Most LiftMaster models in the wild are not Security+ 2.0 so it would be helpful for other readers to know which ones are. G3P0 December 19, 2016, 11:39am 4 Thank you for your quick response! I have a model LiftMaster 3850. On Page 13 of the owners manual it states under “SPECIAL NOTE” Only one 398LM can be connected to each garage door opener. If additional wall controls are desired to operate the same garage door opener, it is recommended to use model 378LM wireless wall control as the secondary door control. I suspect there’s some logic in the wall unit that’s communicating with the controller in the lift - so it makes sense they would only want one connected. I received my Garadget yesterday - and I followed the concept of attaching bell wires from the button on the wall controller 398LM to the Garadget. The wiring hack is working as expected. LIFT_MASTER_398LM.jpg2576×1932 1.01 MB LIFT_MASTER_GDO.jpg2576×1932 1.19 MB I have some additional questions about operation of the device, and I’ll look for other posts that may have already answered my questions. You are awesome @garadget. Couple of settings questions. I’ve one door and one garadget but I’ve installed the app on two phones; an iPhone and an Android. That should be ok right? I see diff door name though I set it as the same. How do I do up alerts to notify me that garage door is opened for X mins and auto close the door after Y mins? How do I set up to alert if the door remains open after, say, 9pm? Thanks 1 Like garadget March 29, 2017, 4:04am 15 Thanks for your feedback. Now questions: no problem with that. You may want to restart your unit by clicking “R” if the name didn’t propagate right. Renaming in the app is another option you’re describing “timeout alert” available in alerts tab of the app. You’ll have to issue the close command though. This avoids potential problem when the door starts closing unexpectedly. that’s “night alert” feature in the alerts tab of the app. Make sure to configure the time zone. xNinjas July 1, 2017, 6:29pm 17 I finally picked up a 883lm button here is some pictures IMG_3202.JPG2448×3264 1.41 MB IMG_3201.JPG2448×3264 1.71 MB 1 Like garadget April 24, 2019, 8:02pm 19 By popular demand, now we carry a stock of LiftMaster 883LM wall buttons pre-wired for connecting Security+ 2.0 openers to Garadget or other dry contact controllers. I have a Chamberlain B970 MyQ WiFi enabled. I want to to the same bypass the +Security 2.0. This remote door button uses a battery (pic from March 2017) Does this hack process really need battery power? Is there another remote that doesn’t require a battery but draws power from the garage door opener? garadget May 30, 2021, 10:43pm 22 @Kei, In this post you see the pictures of the removes with and without batteries. Those with the batteries are based on the wireless remotes: you will only need to hook them app to the dry contact relay (Garadget) and they communicate with the opener wirelessly. The buttons without the battery are wired wall consoles and they do receive power from the opener and will have to be connected to it. Kei June 13, 2021, 10:04pm 23 i soldered two extra lead wires to the dry contact relay of my new 883LM. I tested the 883LM on its’ own and it functions perfectly opening and closing my garage door (Chamberlain B970 WiFi & MyQ enabled). I have also just installed the MEROSS smart garage door opener. I’m using the MEROSS because it supports a “open garage door” voice command where MyQ does not support “open door”. The 883LM dry contact wires are connected to the MEROSS input. I can open and close my garage door with Google Assistant BUT each time I ask Google to open or close, my Chamberlain wall mounted control panel time display is reset “blinking 12:00” The signal from MEROSS going to the 883LM isn’t the perfect code? So I re-test. I disconnect the MEROSS, reset the Chamberlain wall mount control panel time, press the 883LM button - garage door opens and closes; the time displayed did not get resest. So the MEROSS signal to the 883LM dry contacts is not perfect. Any thoughts? thank you, Kei. garadget June 13, 2021, 10:08pm 24 Garadget has a setting for how long the relay keeps the contacts closed. There should be a similar setting in the controller you are using. It sounds like it keeps the contacts closed for too long and that starves your wall console of the power. next page → Tag » Where Is The Learn Button On My Liftmaster Where Is The Learn Button On A LiftMaster Garage Door Opener?
