See: Jason Momoa stars in sci-fi drama series

Apple TV+ launches today, Friday, November 1, and with it will be plenty of new series viewers will want to binge-watch. Among them will be See starring Aquaman himself, actor Jason Momoa. So where is the new series set and where is See filmed.

Where is See filmed?

See was filmed in various locations around Vancouver in Canada.

As the series is meant to be set in the wild, Vancouver’s mountains made for the perfect backdrop.

Filming for the new show took place between September 2018 and February 2019.

Cast and crew for the show ventured to places such as near the Campbell River, Comox and Strathcona Provincial Park.

This is not the first time Vancouver has been chosen as a filming location.

Due to the beauty of the city as well as the beneficial tax breaks given out by the government, Vancouver is an ideal place to film for the entertainment industry.

DC Comics’ Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legend of Tomorrow and Supergirl were all filmed in Vancouver.

Both Deadpool films - starring Vancouver’s very own Ryan Reynolds - and Star Trek Beyond were also shot in the city.

Momoa is no stranger to Canada either as his Discovery Channel period drama Frontier is shot in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Ontario, and other locations.

Where is new TV series See set? (Image: Apple TV )

Apple TV+’s synopsis says it “is set 600 years in the future after a virus has decimated humankind and rendered the remaining population blind.

“When all humanity has lost the sense of sight, humans must adapt and find new ways to survive.”

Momoa is an important person in his community but when his wife gives birth to twins with the ability to see, Queen Kane (Sylvia Hoeks) tells the tribe “bring the children to me”, wishing to kill his children.

To protect his family, Momoa goes to great lengths to keep his children safe from harm.

The series was created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight and Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence.

See is just one of the new shows to be aired on the new Apple TV+ streaming service which will also launch tomorrow.

Other shows including The Morning Show featuring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon as well as Dickinson will be on the new channel.
