Fennekin made its first appearance in A Battle of Aerial Mobility! and in the following episode, was chosen by Serena out of the three starter Pokémon given out by Professor Sycamore. It acts very similar to it's trainer, Serena, in that it will mimic movements and actions she does. Fennekin also pays close attention to its appearance and gets upset when its appearance isn't as good as it should be. Again, showing the similarity between Fennekin and Serena.
