To play media and access Alexa, set up your Echo Buds with the Alexa app.

For Echo Buds (2021 release, 2nd gen) and Echo Buds (2023 release), you must register your Echo Buds in the Alexa app first in order to set up your device successfully.

Note: When setting up a replacement pair of Echo Buds (2023 Release), the replacement earbud needs to be set up as a pair and cannot mix with a previous earbud. For more information, refer to your Quick Start Guide that comes with your replacement buds.

1. Open the Alexa app .
2. Open the case lid. Place your Echo Buds in the case and close the lid.
3. Press the button on the case for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. Confirm that the blue light is flashing.
4. Put the Echo Buds into your ears.
5. The Alexa app will notify you, with a pop-up notification, that your Echo Buds have been detected.
6. Select the pop-up notification.
   1. If you don't receive the notification, open the Alexa app.
   2. Select Devices .
   3. Select .
   4. Select Add Device.
   5. Select Amazon Echo , and then select Echo Buds . Note: You might have to approve the pairing request on your phone.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: It may take up to 2 minutes for your Echo Buds to appear in the available devices list.
