Jun 12, 2014 7 0 10,520 I was trying to replace my att modem/router with my netgear N300 dgn2200. Whenever I try to use the setup wizard it says that there is no ethernet cable connected. I have a macbook that has no ethernet ports so I'm unable to do that. I'm able to login to the router over wifi so is there a way to bypass having to use the ethernet cable? Thanks Solution Beg one of your friends with a PC with an ethernet port to help you. They'll be glad to do so if only to feel smug about the "limitations" of a fancy new Mac relative to their PCs. 😉 Look for a setting that will allow administration via wifi then change the login credentials and use a long & strong password.
