The Chapter 11 filing is prompted by the discovery of liabilities, or alleged liabilities, that we believe were not disclosed in our negotiations,” Peter Donbavand, Buffets vice president of business development said. "We intend to investigate the propriety of the disclosures, and intend to consult with our counsel regarding any remedies we may have.” Restaurants in Columbia, Orangeburg, Conway and Surfside Beach are also among the South Carolina locations that have closed.Copyright 2016 WIS. Six Ryan’s locations in South Carolina have closed their doors, including those in Spartanburg and Greer.

Buffets LLC, the parent company that owns Ryan’s, will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in order to restructure debts and liabilities.
