Introduction

Shawn Michaels is an American retired professional wrestler with an estimated net worth of $10 Million.

Wrestling Career

In 1985, Shawn Michaels debuted for World Class Championship Wrestling and, a year later, moved to the American Wrestling Association. There, he was teamed with Marty Jannetty, and they were known as The Midnight Rockers. After winning the AWA World Tag Team Championship together, The Rockers were signed by the World Wrestling Federation in 1987. However, they were fired two weeks later and returned to the AWA to win the Tag Team Championship again.

In 1988, The Midnight Rockers returned to the WWF, and Vince McMahon changed their name to “The Rockers.”

After winning the Survivor Series 4-on-4 match in 1989, Shawn Michaels and Jannetty unofficially won the WWF tag Team Championship. However, in 1991, the pair split, with Michaels superkicking Jannetty through a window during a talk show promo segment. This set Michaels up to be a prominent villain during the early 90s, and in 1992, he took on the name The Heartbreak Kid.

In 1994, he won the WWF Tag Team Championship with Kevin Nash, then known as Diesel. The following year, Michaels became the leader of a backstage group known as The Kliq and, in 1996, regained the WWF Championship. Although a knee injury soon after had him on the sidelines for a while, he briefly joined Steve Austin to win the Tag Team Championship.

Retirement & Comeback

During a match against The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels herniated two disks and crushed one entirely in his back. This injury forced him into retirement, but he made a surprise appearance at Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling in 1999.

In 2000, he appeared as a guest referee for The Rock and Triple H’s match at Judgement Day and founded Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy. Two years later, he made his official comeback as a member of the New World Order before entering a feud with Triple H. Soon after, he began a rivalry with Chris Jericho and lost to a team consisting of Ric Flair, Triple H, and Jericho at Backlash.

In 2005, Michaels reunited with Jannetty, and The Rockers took down La Resistance on Raw before teaming up with Hulk Hogan a few months later. Shawn Michaels won the World Tag Team Championship with John Cena in 2007 and then began a feud with Randy Orton. Soon after, he became the first person to defeat Vladimir Kozlov before losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 25.

Shawn Michaels would later have his last fight against The Undertaker in 2010, after which he would retire for good under the match’s stipulations. Since then, Michaels has made sporadic appearances and, in 2016, became a trainer at the WWE Performance Center.
