She-Hulk Explains Why Abomination Participated In Shang-Chi's ...

The following contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 3, "The People vs. Emil Blonsky," now streaming on Disney+.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has finally explained why Abomination fought Wong at an underground fight club during the events of 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The Disney+ series' third episode, "The People vs. Emil Blonsky," revealed that Tim Roth's Emil Blonsky was forced to turn into Abomination and compete in Shang-Chi's underground fight club by Wong (Benedict Wong). The sorcerer required a worthy opponent to fight as part of his training to become the next Sorcerer Supreme and broke Abomination out of his cell. At Blonsky's parole hearing, Wong testified that he was responsible for Abomination escaping prison and that Blonsky chose to return to his cell to finish his sentence instead of choosing asylum at Kamar-Taj. Wong's admission allowed Blonsky to be granted parole on the condition that he would never turn into Abomination again.

While initially depicted as a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Emil Blonsky has been redeemed in She-Hulk, with the character successfully being granted parole and released from prison to set up a meditation retreat with his seven soulmates. It is unknown how the Abomination will factor into the remaining six episodes of She-Hulk, but promos have shown the character, fully clothed as the Abomination, walking through a crowd of his fans, which suggests that it won't be long before the stipulation that states Blonsky cannot turn into the Abomination out in public is broken.

It's Wong's MCU, the Avengers Are Just Living in It

Wong was introduced in 2016's Doctor Strange as a Master of the Mystic Arts and head librarian at Kamar-Taj, tasked with protecting the most valuable relics and books. He became a close ally of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange in the film and the two would go on to appear together in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Wong has had an increased presence within the MCU since the start of Phase 4, appearing in three films and two television series. This has led Marvel fans to passionately refer to the current MCU phase as "Phase Wong" with hopes that the character will continue to appear throughout the remainder of Phase 4.

Another Marvel character who will have a huge presence in the MCU's future is Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock/Daredevil. The actor originally starred as the titular crime fighter in Netflix's Daredevil between 2015 and 2018 before reprising the role in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. Marvel Studios has already confirmed that Daredevil will be appearing in multiple MCU projects over the next several years, including She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The character will also appear in the Hawkeye spinoff series Echo, the animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year and as the main star of the live-action Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, which will serve as a spiritual successor to Netflix's Daredevil series and reunite him with Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.

The first three episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now streaming on Disney+, with new episodes releasing each Thursday until Oct. 12.
