I assumed all boys just "shook it off" after they peed, but a coworker mentioned that her boys (sons and husband!) were all taught to wipe after they pee.  Which is "normal"?  Is there a double-standard for guys vs. girls?  Or (lol) is it just because girls ALWAYS have better hygiene?

I would teach my son to wipe (if I had one). Ask any man and he'll tell you no matter how much you shake, there is always a chance of pee dribbling to the front of their underpants. Yuck!

Or is it because males have less to get in the way when they urinate?

My husband and boys all shake after, I have never heard of wiping for guys.

My husband pats it dry. My son is learning the same thing. Grin

I think what Jake means is that with guys (if they are circumcised) it's a pretty direct shot out of their bodies, but girls have more folds and creases for it to drip/run into (lol eeeww!).  My boys are intact but they aren't supposed to pull their foreskins back yet (at this age).

    Thanks, BlessedMommy02, that's what I mean.

  • mMaroleMcDaniel Posted 03-12-11Meh, I taught my ODS to pat it a bit. I figure it can't hurt and the idea of shaking seems kinda messy ;) I have no idea what my DH does...we use different bathrooms ;)
  • dDragonchilde Posted 03-12-11

Yes. Even if they "shake it" there's still a bit of urine left in there. Wiping would wick that out.

I can't tell you how many times my husband's had PEE on his underwear from "shaking." It's disgusting. A sheet of toilet paper would fix that right up.
