13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:53am unlimited, it gives less input-lag and less stuttering. Last edited by King Tulip; 13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:53am #1

13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:55am No need to cap it in this game, it's not hurting anything and the more frames you are getting the "smoother" your inputs will be for the game engine. #2

13 Aug, 2019 @ 11:58am Yes you should cap the fps to something sensible. Check your min and max, if it is as you say from 300 to 500 then cap it to either 350 or 450.What you want to achieve is avoid heavy bursts of activity on the CPU and GPU that produce heat instead of anything useful that leads to microstaters. Consistent fps is better than max fps.My system can achieve way above 500 fps but I have it capped at 500. I have a 240Hz monitor and I have switched off the G-Sync part. Also you do not want to cap it below 300, this number of fps seems to be the best for CS:GO, below that it affects your movement, aim and overall gameplay. 13 Aug, 2019 @ 12:34pm CSGO is best with high FPS, and stable FPS. It's not easy to get both. Smoke grenades, molotovs, tracers and particles from frags all cause FPS to drop. You don't want to set a FPS cap too low, because you'll be losing performance when things aren't too busy. You don't want to set a FPS cap too high, because when it does get busy, you will feel / notice the lower FPS.If your getting between 300-500 FPS (min and max) maybe try setting a 400fps cap. In all honesty, you probably won't notice too much on a 60hz screen. Are you gaming at 1080p? If so 144hz+ 1080p monitors are quite cheap nowadays, it seems like your PC has plenty of performance - a higher refresh rate screen would provide a noticeable difference in smoothness.
