Member Oct 26, 2017 15,209 If you decide to skip out on side content (which I did (for the most part) during my play through of Spiderman, then they both play very similar. Personally I'd play through Spiderman first because it's really good and gives you more background for Miles, but Morales does have a catch-up video at the very beginning if you want a quick summary. Member Oct 25, 2017 17,603 I say no, Spider-Man is amazing and the better of the two. Don't get me wrong, Miles is amazing but the first game's got better writing. If you do decide to skip it however just known that there's a "last time on Spider-Man" thing at the beginning of Miles that sums the first game up. Still I suggest you play the first. Jedi2016

The Fallen Oct 25, 2017 38,238 I played Miles without having played the first game, and honestly I had a great time. If the original game was as short as Miles, I'd probably play it, but I've heard too many times how padded it is. It also doesn't help that its combat is supposedly not as fun as Miles'. Banned Oct 30, 2017 8,001 Play Spiderman remastered first if you want to focus on current gen. It's an amazing game. Miles is a much shorter stand alone expansion type experience though. If you don't go into it with that expectation you might be disapointed. For me miles just felt like "more" of what I already loved...I'm not sure I would have been satisfied with it in its own though. gdt

Yeah like obviously both are good games, and interconnecting in terms of story, but its not like you are going to be lost if you just pick up MM. Its a comic book story its not tough to grasp what is going on. The burnout would be my concern but that happens to be easily with open world games so to each his own. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to play MM now and pick up the first game sometime down the line, maybe when the remaster is on sale or something. Ryuelli

But they're both on PS4 and PS5. Marvels-Spider-Man-Miles-Morales I'm also guessing that the events of Miles Morales won't be as important (outside of building him up as a character) as the events of Spiderman 1 should we get a Spiderman 2, so if this is a series you'd like to stick with might as well knock both of them out right now. Member Oct 26, 2017 28,501 Play the 1st first if you have any intentions on playing it, it's outright spoiled in Miles and going back from MM will be a lot harder than going forward, as MM has really good additions and improvements to traversal and combat. You like 1 you'll very likely like the other, both are great. Lotus

Miles is the better game, but the first game is still very much worth playing, with a story you'll want to have experienced before the sequel for it comes out Spring-Loaded

Member Jan 27, 2020 740 They are 95% the same exact game type. Do you want a tight 20 hour personal style story or a 40+ hour wide ranging spider-man story? It is not a knock, both are great games but they are nearly identical as a game. It's the type and depth of story that is different. OP OP entremet

IMO the original game is kind of weak. It has good presentation and some nice setpieces, but the combat/traversal are rather shallow and the sidecontent and open-world elements are really weak. Story is there, nothing special but it's nice enough to keep you interested most of the times. Game has indeed some stealth sections that are not fun, but IIRC there are only a few of them and are short. Don't know about Miles though, being shorter seems a good thing but I can't say anything more. whatsarobot
