  • RaTtY81 14 Dec 05, 21:49 approach the far left counter for assistance Laughing
  • Ponders 14 Dec 05, 21:51 Turn left on red only at stated intersection.Simply at red light you can turn left only when passage is clear.Supposed to be a plan where eventually all interesections will be "turn left on red".But people here don't understand the concept yet.... so progress is slow.Indonesia implemented this at all intersection unless stated.North America (less few states), permits turn right on red on all intersections.Australia and NZ don't allow it.
  • espire 14 Dec 05, 23:50 i tink it applies to T-juntions only

  • sinicker 14 Dec 05, 23:52 are you malaysian?how come u dont know "turn left on red"?yes, it applies to T-junctions mostly.
  • storm_freaky13 15 Dec 05, 01:15 cross junctions have... but rare... probably because the left side cars might want to do a u-turn and may cause obstruction. Usually T-Junction.. and um.. refer to basic/advance theory book... i got extra copies for both.. any takers?

This is because the drivers don't care about the red light la. Sometimes they just goes "off-road" to do this. Frequent when the TP isn't around, they also turn right when red. Then everyone turning right would form a cross in the middle of the junction. Confused
  • gUms 15 Dec 05, 09:34 dont forget to check right , b4 turning left on red ar!

Sorry Boss, got my licence maybe 13/14 years ago.hmm maybe back in those days dont have this sign ?when did this sign appear in Sg ?& thanks to bros here clearing my doubts.Actually licence was "free" as was SAF driver. But never can afford my own car. every year go Incamp drive 3 tonner or land rover for 2-3 weeks over 13 years already. But those days we have to endure those real CRAzy SAF driving instructors. Some can ask u stop at crowded bus stop do push ups, or shout at u till can see stars. Scold all the Cb words, etc.

  • bounce34 16 Dec 05, 12:47 its means just turn..haha..
  • ShutterBug 16 Dec 05, 16:54 "Turn Left on Red"Basically, I think there are 3 types of motorists to whom this sign is a problem:1) Just passed but forgot most of the Highway Codes2) Lady driver who understands, but not enough courage or too cautious to turn left on red3) An illiterate who cannot read English fumbling at the junction when he encounters this signAnd then of course there are those who just looks for the green arrow or green light - ONLY. Oblivious to all the horns behind him or her.

I think the authorities saw those jiu hu motorcycle make illegal left when it is a red light late at night and thought it is a good idea, so decide to implement it... Mr. Green
  • AirIntake 17 Dec 05, 20:17 Try to interpret this:Location: Melbourne CityPlace: Any Cross-juction with Tram TracksTraffic Sign: "Turn Right From Left"Traffic System: Left-lane traffic (Same as Singapore)Verdict: Took me almost half a day "Monkey Seeing and Monkey Doing" to understand what it means. I was surprised as this was new traffic means.Meaning: To turn right at a cross-juction with tram tracks, it is risky due to tram traffic. Trams also follow the junction traffic lights. So if one needs to turn right at the cross-junction, one has to drive the car up to the left side of the traffic and stand-by to turn right when the signal turns red. All this while on the left side of the car, you will see cars stopped and ready to move on at the road you are tuning into, if you get what I mean.Anyway, just sharing. For those going to Melbourne for free and easy renting their rides, this will be useful traffic info for you.Another thing, when trams stop at the tram stops, trams also become traffic lights to allow the passengers to walk from the center of the road to the pavements on the sides, so watch out the red or stop sign which is shown at the back of the tram.Well, I managed to find a picture from the below webpage. Happy reading.http://www.motorists.com/mi/aussie.html
