Silver is a metallic and chemical element that can be used as a weakness to vampires, werewolves and many other supernatural creatures.
Reason for weakness[]
Silver has been used as a symbol of purity for thousands of years, dating back to ancient times when people noticed water with silver in it took longer to go bad. This is because silver has antimicrobial properties, and the substance is even used in some forms of medicine.
Because silver is seen as pure, it is effective against impure forces, such as vampires and werewolves. Silver bullets are especially potent when blessed by a priest.
Silver is also why vampires have no mirror reflection, as mirrors were originally made from silver, and thus could not reflect anything unholy.
