I bought some Advil because for the size of bottle, it was actually cheaper than the Walgreens brand. I popped 2 in my mouth and the coating has some kind of sweetener in it. I'd think they would be afraid kids would OD on the stuff if they got into the bottle. Crusty

As long as I can remember they've always had that little bit of sweetness to them. Bibble

Yea, Advil brand is sweetened or something. I usually just get generic tho because it's cheaper. Baked

1st time you bought drugs w/ a candy shell? Really? Also, all the medicines come in child proof bottle caps. If they're old enough to figure out how to open them, they should know better to mess w/ drugs. Scarpozzi

True. I just want to say they're sweeter than I remember. I usually get the Walmart brand or whatever's the cheapest. I just found a bottle with 50% free that made the Advil cheaper than the generic. I doubt I'll ever buy it again...I like the non-sweetened version better. 😛 Dirigible

For at least about twenty years. On the way home from snowboarding in the late eighties I offered a friend some. For some reason he thought I was offering him tic-tacs and started chewing on them. According to him, once you get through the outer shell the flavor is horrible. 😛 It was entertaining to watch though. PottedMeat

Don't worry, your kids suck on an advil long enough and they wont be doing it ever again. BTW, I also love the taste. Rubycon

Yes once the coating wears off. Or just chew on it. I wonder how many calories are in the coating. M

This is actually the explanation for the sweet taste ... its to cover up the nasty flavor in case they stay in your mouth a bit too long. Maleficus

They started to do that in order to hook kids when they're young. The cigarette marketing execs who were fired after the Joe Camel fiasco just changed industries. 😉 You must log in or register to reply here. Share: Facebook X Bluesky LinkedIn Reddit Tumblr WhatsApp Email Share Link
