Don’t you love public holidays, school holidays and long weekends? With five public holidays falling on Friday or Sunday in 2019, there are four long weekends in Singapore in 2019.

Take a day’s leave in January and February, and two days’ leave in May, June and December, and you can stretch them into nine long weekends!

Your long weekends will take place during the following public holidays – Good Friday (April), Vesak Day (May), National Day and Hari Raya Haji (August), and Deepavali (October).

To create two more long weekends, simply take one day’s leave around New Year’s Day (January) and just before Chinese New Year (February).

Singapore School Holidays for 2019

The school year for 2019 for all MOE primary and secondary schools will start from Tuesday, 2 January and end on Friday, 15 November 2019.

Youth Day Sunday*, 7 July 2019 Teachers’ Day Friday, 6 September 2019 Children’s Day Friday**, 4 October 2019

* The following Monday, 8 July 2019, will be a scheduled school holiday. ** For primary schools & primary sections of full schools only.
