Siri Not Talking Back To You? Try These Fixes - IDownloadBlog

Find out how to make Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac speak responses again if it has suddenly stopped talking and only shows the answer on the screen.
You’ve been using Siri, your favorite digital assistant, for quite some time now, but suddenly, Siri isn’t speaking back. You can hear other clicks and sounds on your device, but you long for Siri’s voice. Here are four things you can check if Siri isn’t talking to you anymore.
1. Check Siri’s voice feedback setting
The first thing you should check if Siri isn’t speaking to you anymore is its voice feedback setting.
On iPhone and iPad
- Open the Settings app and tap Apple Intelligence & Siri or just Siri.
- Select Siri Responses.
- Choose Prefer Spoken Responses. This ensures Siri will provide voice feedback even if your iPhone or iPad is in silent mode.
On Mac
If you’re having trouble with Siri on your Mac, here’s how to check the response feedback setting.
- Open System Settings and select Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Click the Siri Responses button.
- Turn on the switch for Voice feedback and click Done.
If your Mac is on an older version of macOS, head to System Preferences > Siri and make sure the radio button for Voice Feedback is On.
2. Adjust your Siri volume
Often, it’s something as simple as the volume being set too low. Siri’s volume can be adjusted separately from your current iPhone volume setting.
Invoke Siri on your iPhone and turn up the volume while the Siri interface is visible on the screen. You may notice that when you close Siri and adjust the volume on your Home Screen, it might differ from the volume setting on the Siri screen. Go back to check the Siri screen to ensure the volume is correctly adjusted.
3. Restart your iPhone or Mac
Siri may not speak due to temporary glitches. To fix this, turn off your iPhone and turn it back on. On Mac, click the Apple icon from the top left and choose Restart.
4. Disable and re-enable Siri
If nothing else works, follow the steps here to turn Siri off and then back on. This should reset the voice assistant and fix the ongoing problems.
If the problem continues, update your iPhone and see if that helps.
