I’m on iOS 15.1 And my Siri sounds so weird. It sounds like a really bad phone call. All muffled and robotic. Should I do a reboot?

Mine was sounding the same! I changed the voice to a different setting, then did the hard reboot using (volume up, volume down one after the other, and then holding the power button until the apple logo appears and the phone restarts). Then I reset my airpods and then changed Siri’s Vice back to the voice I prefer and restarted once again. Hopefully this clears up the issue.

Mine seemed to change after connecting to bluetooth speaker and to the car. I found this on another site and it worked for me.....

"I fixed this, nip (go) to accessibility, voiceover, speech, click on the name of the voice you use click default, then if enhanced has not been downloaded just click that it takes a few seconds depending on your Wi-Fi speeds rate and it cures this issue. You can then delete the enhanced file in voiceover and siri sounds fine asking things like make a call etc. Most odd but it seems to work."

....hope this works for you.

I had this happen with my Siri voice 4. My voice 3 was fine, so I knew it wasn’t my AirPods or phone, so I switched to using it for both Siri and Spoken Content, deleting voice 4 and re-downloading it (had to switch to voice 3 because the delete function in the voices menu on spoken content won’t let you delete a voice if it’s in use anywhere). This seemed to fix the issue.

Turning off low power mode fixed the voice. However since the battery drain on my iPhone 11 Pro is so extreme, I am almost always in low power mode. Please update this apple!

This was my problem. In low power mode it’s muffled sounds like underwater. Turn it off and she’s back to normal.

If your Siri sounds muffled or robotic or like they’re underwater simply remove the phone off low power mode. You don’t have to restart or change the voice (unless desired)

Hi, it appears to only occur when it is on low power mode. I always have my low power mode on (out of habit) and it seems to work! My Siri's voice isn't muffled or robotic anymore, maybe this will help you too. I hope Apple fixes it soon on the next update.

Same thing happened to me. I had my Siri stay like that for 2 months after buying my iPhone 11. All I did was turn off low power then turn it back on and then it was fixed. I was looking at these and some people leave low power mode off, just turn it back on your Siri will be just fine.

I just recently updated to iOS 15.1 and noticed this too. That was also the first time I had used Siri on my new iPhone I just read something saying to turn off low power mode so I tried it and it worked.

Thanks so much! I thought it wouldn’t sort it but I swear as soon as I turned low power mode off it was absolutely fine :)
