Materials

• Pencil
• Drawing Paper
• Crayons or Colored Pencils
• Black Marker (optional)

This tutorial will instruct you how to draw a sitting cat. We will draw attention to the shapes of each part and types of outlines drawn so that the drawing looks right.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

1. Draw The Head

   

   Draw the cat’s head near the top left of the page. The cat should have a short round head with big ears.

2. Give It A Face

   

   Draw the cat’s face with two eyes, a nose, and a cute smile. Give the cat some detail in the ears as well.

3. Start The Body

   

   Draw two curved lines to start the basic shape of the body. The line on the left is going to be the cat’s chest, while the other line is its back.

4. Draw The Feet

   

   Give the cat its front legs and also draw the back leg that is visible.

5. Give It A Tail

   

   On the right side of the body, give the cat a long tail.

6. Color It In

   

   This cat is colored in with a tabby cat pattern, but you can color it however you like.
