You can raise Slime on your farm inside a Slime Hutch. In this Stardew Valley Animals guide, you'll learn how to get Slimes on your farm and what you'll need to build a Slime Hutch.

How to Get a Slime Hutch

Like most farm buildings in this game, to have a Slime Hutch on your farm, you'll have to go to Robin's Carpenter Shop and ask her to build you one; you'll need the following materials:

  • 500 Stone
  • 10 Refined Quartz
  • 1 Iridium Bar
  • 10,000g

Once the building is ready, you'll have to fill the water troughs inside the hutch so the slimes can produce Slime Balls. Keep in mind that you'll have to have at least five slimes inside the hutch before they can make Slime Balls.

How to Get Slimes

While Slimes are easily found in the mines, you can't take those to your barn; instead, you'll need to hatch them from Slime Eggs. You'll get your first Slime Egg from Marlon after purchasing the Slime Hutch; you can place it on a Slime incubator. There are other ways of obtaining Slime Eggs, like putting 100 slimes into the Slime Egg-Press, slaying slimes (will only drop after you have the Slime Hutch on your farm), or as a drop from your slimes inside the hutch. There are five different kinds of Slime Eggs:

  • Green Slime Egg - sells for 1,000g
  • Blue Slime Egg - sells for 1,750g
  • Red Slime Egg - sells for 2,500g
  • Purple Slime Egg - sells for 5,000g
  • Tiger Slime Egg - sells for 8,000g

Finally, there's also a chance that Slimes will mate and produce a baby slime.
