Biology
Snom is a small, larval Pokémon. Most of its round white body is covered by a translucent shell of icy spikes. Its exposed head features two black eyes and round mouthparts. Four short legs are located underneath its body.
Snom anchors itself to branches with frigid thread it extrudes from its mouth to disguise itself as an icicle while sleeping. Snom consumes snow that has piled up on the ground, and prefers soft, fresh snow; it will climb its way up a mountain eating through its snow. Snom's internal organs amplify the cold air from the snow it consumes, which it uses to create the spikes on its back. The more snow it eats, the larger and more impressive the spikes grow. As shown in Pokémon Camp, Snom are known to be voracious eaters, only being satisfied with heaping amounts of food. If it is startled, it will quickly burrow into the snow.
Snom and its Evolution, Frosmoth, are the only known Pokémon that can have Ice Scales as an Ability.

Trivia
Snom shares its category with Caterpie and Wurmple. They are known as the Worm Pokémon.
No other Pokémon have the same type combination as Snom and its evolved form.
Snom and its Evolution are the only Ice-type Pokémon in the Bug Egg Group.
Snom:
Is the only Generation VIII Pokémon that evolves through friendship.
Has the lowest base stat total of all Ice-type Pokémon.
Has the lowest base HP and Speed stats of all Ice-type Pokémon.
Is tied with Swinub for the lowest base Special Defense stat of all Ice-type Pokémon.
Is the only Ice-type Pokémon that cannot learn Blizzard or Endure, and one of only three that cannot learn Ice Beam (the others being Frost Rotom and Chien-Pao).
Is the only Ice-type Pokémon with a serpentine body.
Is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 185.
Is tied with Frost Rotom and Snowy Form Castform for the shortest Ice-type Pokémon.
Origin
Snom may be based on a jewel caterpillar. It may also draw some inspiration from the larvae of the Gynaephora genus of alpine or Arctic moths. One particular species, the arctic woolly bear moth, can enter a dormant state that allows it to endure temperatures as low as −94 °F (−70 °C). Snom's voracious appetite in Pokémon Camp is likely a reference to Saturniidae biology, in which the caterpillars eat a large stockpile of food due to losing the ability to eat upon becoming moths.
Name origin
Snom may be a combination of snow, worm, and nom (slang for eating).
Yukihami may be a combination of 雪 yuki (snow) and 食み hami (eating).
