So annoying I recently went to visit my sister in MI for my nephews grad party. A few people over there owns smaller breed dogs. I brought Libbie with me of course and one lady that has a yorkie tells my sister in law, "OMG - shes so big. My yorkie is so much smaller". Another lady who I always see over there tells me the same thing. Get this, the lady who said my 3 pound yorkie is soo big tells me shes planning to breed her yorkie, which I'm guessing is around 2pounds only. I tired telling them is not safe to breed a dog so small...and they go off and tell me that oh it gonna be fine as long as the male dog is smaller. So here's the question. . . . Is it safe the breed a dog under 3 pounds even if the male is smaller? __________________ LibbieLu

A dog shouldn't be bred unless she's over 5 pounds, period. __________________ Tinky, my Who let the dogs out?

Some people just need to learn the hard way. Tell her she will finally understand when her female dies during whelping. This is also the type of person who will probably mate her dog with a 8 month old male. That's prob the only way she'll find anything smaller than hers. And how rude of her to tell you your 3 pound tiny is big. If she wants to carry around something that small, maybe she should go get a mouse. __________________ The T.U.B. Pack! What a cutie pie you have. I always get a kick out of people that think your yorkie is big. I get the same thing...I usually get the last laugh as Lexi has won quite a few prizes for being the smallest furbaby when we bring her to events. Although, I think she maybe getting BIG...almost 4 lbs now LOL I would of loved to have breed her but there was no way I could live with myself if anything happen to her so we had her spayed. Have a great evening Hugs Cheryl & Lexi

Way too small to breed a dog...I read they should be at least 5 lbs. That poor dog could die. __________________ Melissa Niyah - b. May 26, 2007

I just hope the next time you talk to this lady she is not saying her's is died. Because she could kill her. I would like to see her yorkie, she was more likly full of her self. 3 lbs is very small.

What is wrong with people, that is way to small. Jada is 3lbs and I would never consider breeding her. Yorkies are great big or small. If you get a small one thats fine and if you get a big one thats fine too, just more to love Quote:
