DATA The SEIFA data is available from the Downloads tab. There are three types of data cubes: Indexes, Population Distribution and SA1 Distribution. Indexes data cubes Indexes data cubes are provided for the following geographic areas: Statistical Area Level 1 (SA1), Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2), Local Government Area (LGA), State Suburb (SSC) and Postal Area (POA). The Indexes data cubes contain the SEIFA index scores. The most important data cube is the Indexes data cube for the SA1 level indexes - all the SEIFA 2016 data cubes are derived from the SA1 level indexes. The SA1 level data cube contains the index scores for each of the four indexes, as well as the associated ranks, deciles and percentiles at the Australia and State/Territory level. For more information on these measures, see the SEIFA Measures page of the SEIFA Basics guide. Indexes for some larger geographic areas are calculated by taking population-weighted averages of constituent SA1 scores. The higher level Indexes data cubes also contain ranks, deciles and percentiles at the Australia and State/Territory level. Population Distribution data cubes Population Distribution data cubes are provided for the following geographic areas: Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3), Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4), Local Government Area (LGA), Commonwealth Electoral Division (CED) and State Electoral Division (SED). These data cubes have been released to assist users to understand the diversity of the SA1 level SEIFA scores within larger areas. The Population Distribution data cubes contain tables and charts showing the percentage of people living in SA1s with scores in particular ranges. If an area has a high level of diversity, then the population will be spread widely across the scores. In contrast, an area with a low level of diversity will have most of the population falling within a small range of scores. Note that index scores have not been calculated for individuals. The tables and charts present the population within SA1s that have scores in particular ranges. SA1 Distribution data cubes SA1 Distribution data cubes are provided for the following geographic areas: Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2), Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3), Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4), Local Government Area (LGA), State Suburb (SSC), Postal Area (POA), Commonwealth Electoral Division (CED) and State Electoral Division (SED). These data cubes have been released to assist users to understand the diversity of the SA1 level SEIFA scores within larger areas. For each larger area, the number of SA1s in each decile has been reported. If an area has a high level of diversity, then the SA1s will be spread widely across the 10 deciles. An area with a low level of diversity will have most of the SA1s falling within a small range of deciles.
