Solomon means “Peace” or “Peaceful” King Solomon in the Bible was the son of King David. Solomon was the wisest king and prosperous beyond measure. I loved that we had never met a Solomon before and it was also the only boy name my husband and I both agreed on.

My son immediately seemed peaceful, calm and alert after a fast accidental home birth. My husband commented on it and I said we should see which name on our list meant peace. Solomon had been on our list of names before birth, but wasn’t at the top. It really fits him! We like Biblical names and solid names.

My sweet wise peaceful boy was meeting and greeting the world for 3 weeks before we were able to decide on the name Solomon. I love how it equals out how high of energy he brings into the world. I wish I would have listened to him more though he might have chosen something a bit different.

We choose this name for several reasons. My husband is David and Solomon is David’s son (in the Bible). Our friend’s last name is Solomon so it was a nod to them as well.

We named our son Solomon David as well!! David wasn’t our favorite name for a middle but our son was born and we’re trying to fill out the certificate and that’s the only middle name we had really discussed so Solomon David it is haha! Also, my husband has an uncle and cousin both named David so it made sense.

I chose Solomon for its strength. I also wanted to pick a name from the biblical times. My son also goes by Sol(pronounced ~Soul~) for short.
