In a recent update, Apple Music has refined the language of expressing affection for your cherished songs. The familiar "Love" feature has now been transformed into "Favorite," offering a more universally understood term that aligns seamlessly across all Apple devices.

For users on iPhone XS and later models who have updated to iOS 17, the transition is evident in the shift from the heart icon to the star icon. The star now signifies your "Favorite" songs. Simply navigate to your Library within the Apple Music app and look for the new star icon. These are your "Favorite" songs, handpicked to suit your unique musical tastes.

As of November 2023, iOS 17 is only available for download on iPhone XS or later. If you are using an iPhone 8 or a device unable to upgrade to iOS 17, this change may not be visible in the traditional sense. You can still love songs anytime you want; however, there's no way to find it directly like on those running iOS 17. You still need to use alternative methods like creating a Smart Playlist and set the rule to include songs you've "Loved." This playlist can then be synced to your iPhone, allowing you to easily access your collection of "Favorite" songs.
