I was instructed to mail my CA form 568 by mail, but when I download the pdf of my return, it is included. So do I still need to mail a physical copy?

If you used TurboTax Self-Employed online version, yes, the Form 568 needs to be printed and mailed. While you are able to prepare it in Self-Employed version, it is only e-filed if you file it in TurboTax Business software.

So go here https://www.ftb.ca.gov/professionals/busefile/Business_eFile_Waiver_Request.asp and request a waiver to paper file this form since the software version you used won't allow e-file for it.

You will then print and mail Form 568 to this address:

FRANCHISE TAX BOARD PO BOX 942857 SACRAMENTO CA 94257-0501
