A Sand-like block found only in The Nether, Soul Sand has the ability to slow the player as well as other mobs. In earlier versions of the game, it used to slow Boats as well, making it an excellent dock material, but not anymore. However, it is still used for making more complex Minecraft contraptions including Mob traps and gates. It is also used to grow Nether Wart.
Not Gates, in the Fence-like sense, but for more technically involved, manual gates, such as "invisible gates." Soul_Sand.png
