I like [name_f]Lia[/name_f] as a nn for names like [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]/[name_f]Liora[/name_f] etc. or if [name_f]Lia[/name_f] is the more common spelling in your country. [name_f]Lea[/name_f] is pronounced [name_u]Lee[/name_u], so not an alternate spelling for [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] feels made up and looks awkward written down. jo_jo October 8, 2016, 6:08am 4 I voted for [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. I love the look of [name_f]Lia[/name_f] but wondered if anyone would ever pronounce it “lie-a”? [name_f]Lea[/name_f] is also so pretty on paper but will it be said as “lay-uh”? [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] looks too made up. bookwormy October 8, 2016, 7:01am 5 I like those spellings, but I like the [name_f]Leia[/name_f] spelling more Halloween_Jacqueline October 8, 2016, 7:08am 6 [name_f]Leah[/name_f], presuming you live in an English speaking country. [name_f]Lia[/name_f] is a close second, because I think it does give a pretty, simple-but-elegant twist to the name, and if you live in a non-English speaking environment (or part of your family does) than this would be my first choice. 3.[name_f]Lea[/name_f] is nice, but in many countries/languages this is pronounced [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-uh, so I would worry about getting that pronunciation. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] because even though I say [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] as “[name_u]Lee[/name_u],” the Lei_ _ a" part makes me think of [name_f]Leia[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-uh), so pronunciation is less straightforward. Also personally I don’t think this version looks as nice as any of the above three options. squidly October 8, 2016, 8:30am 7 [name_f]Leah[/name_f] - Simple and straightforward. If you want the [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-uh pronunciation you should go with this spelling. [name_f]Lea[/name_f] - Many people will pronounce it [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-uh and to me it looks more incomplete than [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. [name_f]Lia[/name_f] - This looks like a nickname rather than a full name to me. You’ll also get spelling issues because people will automatically assume it’s [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] - This just looks odd and I agree with the previous poster that my instinct is to pronounce it [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-uh when written like this. [name_f]Leia[/name_f] - Only go with this spelling if you prefer the [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-uh pronunciation. If you do, this is the spelling you should use. MusicWaves October 8, 2016, 11:29am 8 I love both [name_f]Lia[/name_f] and the traditional [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Lea[/name_f] wouldn’t be pronounced the same and [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] just looks awkward. EagleEyes October 8, 2016, 12:25pm 9 I much prefer [name_f]Leah[/name_f], although I don’t dislike [name_f]Lia[/name_f]. [name_f]Lea[/name_f] is usually pronounced “[name_u]Lee[/name_u]” and [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] looks made-up. [name_f]Lia[/name_f] looks a bit incomplete to me. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is definitely the most traditional option, so it gets my vote. Any way you spell it, [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is a beautiful name eireann October 8, 2016, 12:26pm 10 [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is my favourite, but I also like how it’s the most straightforward. maggiemary October 8, 2016, 12:58pm 11 [name_f]Leah[/name_f] for me. Original is best. badgerbadger October 8, 2016, 1:25pm 12 I voted for [name_f]Leah[/name_f] because I think it’s the most traditional, but I also really like the look of [name_f]Lia[/name_f]. SparkleNinja18 October 8, 2016, 1:36pm 13 As someone with an unconventionally spelled first name, go with [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. It’s pretty and straightforward. [name_f]Lia[/name_f] isn’t bad but won’t ever be spelled correctly. [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] honestly just looks weird. I’d pronounce [name_f]Lea[/name_f] “lay-uh” or “lee”. Quanaya October 22, 2023, 6:19pm 14 I know everybody doesn’t seem to be a big fan [name_f]Leah[/name_f] spelled like [name_f]Leigha[/name_f] but I LOVE it so much idk it could be because my name is very unique so I might be biased when it comes to simple names having a little twist to them. I think it looks pretty thing written down. It looks very pretty. but again, I’m just very biased when it comes to simple names being spelled with a twist, or very unique names ethelmary Closed October 22, 2023, 6:22pm 15 Old topic Tag » How Do You Spell Leah Leah: Name Meaning, Origin, Popularity - Verywell Family Leah (given Name) - Wikipedia Leah Name Meaning, Origin, Popularity, Girl Names Like Leah Leigha | Oh Baby!
