The Spooky Month Dance is an easy form of dancing in which the performer celebrates the fact that it is October, seen by many as the "spooky month" as it is the month that features the holiday Halloween. The Spooky Month Dance is capable of being performed with or without music.

History[]

Although the movement itself has been used before, it wasn't for the purpose of celebrating Halloween, rather, it may possibly have been a small part of a more complicated dance. But that's uncertain.

The first person who coined the name and popularized the dance move is Sr Pelo in October of 2018, who publicly demonstrated the move and even gave clear instructions on how to achieve the Spooky Month Dance.

Performing the Spooky Month Dance is relatively easy, though will result in the performer being disoriented quite fast after the performance.

First, one needs to bend their knees while spreading them apart, this provides a great deal of balance as having your legs straightened out would result in the performer falling.

Secondly, one needs to thrust their arms out in a diagonal line, as described by Pelo himself: "You're seeing a gremlin, and you're like 'no no, don't touch me!'"[1]

You also have to stretch out your waist-high area and align it with your arms, forming a near-perfect diagonal line.

Thirdly, you'd need to collect and hook your hands into your waist, resembling a decrepit old woman who derives pleasure from selling poison to children. You also need to bend your waist, forming a cave inside of your body.

Fourthly, you have to repeat the second step, but form a diagonal line in the opposite direction. Remember the gremlin analogy, but there's another one approaching your opposite side. And lastly, repeat the third step, then the second step, then the third step, and so forth. This is an effective and simple way of performing the Spooky Month Dance.

Reception[]

This dance is popular and perfectly encapsulates the feeling of Halloween, evidence for this is people breaking down into that dance the moment that they are reminded it is October.
