Description

Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry, as its name implies, is a Winter Spiced Cranberry flavor of Sprite, similar to its predecessor, Sprite Cranberry. Its color is clear.

Reception

In 2019, since the reformulation of Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry, it did receive enormous backlash from most people that liked the original Sprite Cranberry flavor, even gone as far and wide to bring back the original.

Outcome

Since two years have passed by, people are still demanding to bring back the original flavor of Sprite Cranberry. Other people switched to another competitor's cranberry flavor to go off on the thanksgiving traditions, such as PepsiCo's Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash and US Keurig Dr Pepper's Canada Dry Cranberry Ginger Ale.

As of November 2021, The Coca-Cola Company hasn't yet decided on bringing the original back.

History

2019

In 2019, The Coca-Cola Company decided to rebrand and reformulate the original flavor of Sprite Cranberry to a new "spiced" up cranberry flavor called Sprite Winter Spice Cranberry.

Officially, it got released in stores in the United States on November 1st, 2019, for a limited time, sold in 6-pack minicans multipacks, 12-packs, 20-ounce bottles, and 2-liters staying until December 31st, 2019.

2020

After its first decent success retail release in 2019, The Coca-Cola Company decided to re-release Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry once again for a limited time for the Winter of 2020. This 2020 release discontinued some sizes, such as the 6-pack minicans multipacks and 12-packs, due to the pandemic of aluminum can shortages.

Officially, it got released in stores in the United States on November 1st, 2020, for a limited time, sold in 20-ounce bottles and 2-liters staying until December 31st, 2020.

2021

After its second retail release in 2020, The Coca-Cola Company decided to re-release Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry for another limited time for the Winter of 2021. This 2021 release sizes remained the same as last year's sizes.

Officially, it got released in stores in the United States on November 1st, 2021, for a limited time, sold in 20-ounce bottles and 2-liters staying until December 31st, 2021.

2021 7-Eleven Slurpee Limited-Time Release

Beginning in November 2021 at select participating convenience store locations, only available at 7-Eleven began offering Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry for a limited time that lasted at the end of December 2021.

After two years of being absent, the Zero Sugar variant came into play with the matching two sizes in the same amount of time as the regular variant.

Trivia

• In late 2018, Sprite Cranberry evolved into a meme because of a commercial that featured Lebron James asking "Wanna Sprite Cranberry?" to the vests on the house. As of early-mid 2019, its popularity died down as expected; however, even after it got reformulated and renamed into Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry was introduced, the old commercial continued to be used (albeit edited).
