Now that animals can breed with wheat, squids obviously don't do the same, but they should be able to breed too. What if you could get a squid to "smell" raw fish as animals do with wheat, and the squid will swim through the water behind you. If you go on land, it will wait on the edge of the ocean. Right clicking a squid with raw fish will feed it the fish and make it fall in love. Get it to breed with another squid and soon enough: a school of squids! This would also be useful for squid transportation. We've all tried it, and it rarely works. With breeding and following, you can just swim to the squid's destination. This also gives fishing another use. Raw fish is pretty forgotten and useless if you ask me. Defensive System Now that animals run when you hit them, squids should have their own defensive system. If you hit one, they will squirt ink. If the ink hits you, your screen has a giant ink splatter on it, blocking your view. It will fade over time. After it goes away you will see that the squid swam away from you. Inc Sacs as potion Ingredients Inc sacs need a new use, badly. You should be able to use it as a main potion ingredient, creating an Inky Potion which lasts 0:30. Mixing it with redstone dust creates an Inky Potion(1:00). The inky potions force the inky screen splatter effect that squids use as a defensive mechanism. It is a negative effect and will fade when the potion effect is over. ----- Show your support with this banner! There's almost no point in squid though. I'm hoping that Notch will eventually make squids drop squid meat and make apples have a 1/8 chance of falling from destroyed leaf blocks. Sheep should also drop meat. To counter this effect, your hunger bar will decrease faster. Another thing: Eating ANY type of raw meat should poison you like the rotten meat does, and when you are poisoned, your health should not regenerate + your hunger bar should go down quicker. 1. This is about squid breeding, post in Small Suggestions with your own ideas. 2. Notch already said sheep won't have meat. 3. Hmm... I always liked the squid; not enough love in there. And I always found it a bit rare, in my case! :biggrin.gif: I can't really think of anything else besides making squids drop something alongside inc sacs, like the spiders do now with their... eyes, lol. That'd really boost their usefulness. But on a more humanitarian note! xD I guess you're right on track. You may be unto something with this...!
