Star Wars: The Bad Batch Release Schedule - IGN

For those eager for their next Star Wars fix and wondering what time Star Wars: The Bad Batch comes out each week, the new Disney Plus series is being released Fridays at midnight PT/3am ET.

However, for the series premiere, The Bad Batch will make a special debut on Tuesday, May 4 (Star War Day), with a special 72-minute episode, followed by one new episode every Friday for the remainder of its release schedule.

The Bad Batch Episode Guide: Every Clone Wars and Mandalorian Episode to Watch

If you're hoping to binge some Star Wars in preparation for the series premiere of The Bad Batch, these are the Clone Wars and Mandalorian episodes that should be at the top of your watch list. The Bad Batch Arc (The Clone Wars S7E1-4)

While chronologically these aren't the first episodes on the list, it's worth highlighting them at the beginning because they're by far the most essential. If you want to do the least amount of homework possible for The Bad Batch, all you really need is these four episodes from the beginning of the final season of The Clone Wars. This is the storyline that actually introduces Clone Force 99, that elite team of genetic oddities that carry out missions too dangerous for ordinary clones. This story arc will help you get a feel for Sergeant Hunter and his team and the somewhat dysfunctional relationship they have with their fellow clones and even their Jedi commanding officers.

This story arc is also important because it reintroduces Echo, a Clonetrooper who had played a major role in the series till his apparent death in Season 3. It's here we learn Echo was revived by the Separatists and turned into a cybernetic secret weapon against his comrades. Echo faces a long, uphill battle reclaiming his humanity in these episodes, and we imagine that struggle will continue to play out in The Bad Batch series.View 8 Images'The Deserter' (The Clone Wars S2E10)

No doubt The Bad Batch will continue and expand upon one of the most important themes from The Clone Wars - the question of whether the clones have free will and if they're capable of becoming something more than living weapons. That question is at the heart of this Season 2 episode, as an injured Captain Rex and his teammates meet Cut Lawquane, a former trooper who deserted the republic in favor of starting a family. The Bad Batch explores the struggle of lifelong soldiers finding meaning after the war has ended, so this episode may well be a taste of what's to come for Hunter, Echo and the rest of the team. The Citadel Arc (The Clone Wars S3E14-16)

No doubt a number of familiar Star Wars characters will pop up over the course of The Bad Batch. The trailers make it clear Admiral Tarkin has a part to play, as he helps shape the fledgling Empire and paves the way for his rise as Grand Moff. That makes this trilogy of episodes worth watching. In "The Citadel" and its two follow-up episodes, Anakin Skywalker leads a mission to rescue an imprisoned Evan Piell and a then-Captain Tarkin. Here we see the early seeds of the Vader/Tarkin dynamic begin to form. As a bonus, this also happens to be the storyline where Echo meets his apparent demise, setting the stage for the events of the Bad Batch arc in Season 7.The Onderon Arc (The Clone Wars S5E2-4)

Along with Tarkin, we know Saw Gerrera will appear at some point during The Bad Batch. At this point, Saw is still two decades from becoming the paranoid fanatic seen in Rogue One. He's a freedom fighter dealing with the realization that one war has only served to make way for another. To get a better sense of who Saw is and what set him on the path to rebellion, it helps to watch the character's original debut in this Clone Wars: Season 5 story arc.The Clone Conspiracy Arc (The Clone Wars S6E1-4)

When The Clone Wars was prematurely canceled by Cartoon Network in 2013, those handful of episodes that were in production were eventually released as a truncated sixth season, dubbed "The Lost Missions." Despite that name, most of Season 6 is pretty essential to the larger Clone Wars narrative. That certainly goes for this opening four-parter, which delves into the secret programming that made Order 66 possible. How much did the Jedi suspect about the true origins of their Clonetroopers? How was Palpatine able to make his soldiers turn on their generals so quickly and ruthlessly? These episodes add a lot more context to the tragedy that is Order 66.
