Starbucks Iced Chai Latte
This recipe is a Starbucks recreation of their Iced Chai Latte. It’s super quick and easy to make with just 3 ingredients.
My secret to making the drink taste exactly like the one at Starbucks is by using a store-bought chai concentrate. Once you make this at home, you’ll never want to buy it from Starbucks again when you can make it for a fraction of the price.
Note from Jee

Not all chai concentrates are the same since every company makes their own chai blend using different spices.
I’ve tried a lot of chai concentrates and Tazo’s tastes exactly like the one at Starbucks. I’ve noticed a lot of other brands are too heavy with the ginger or cloves but Tazo’s has the best balance of spices.
What is Chai?
Chai is a traditional drink from India. It’s made of black tea, milk, and spices like cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. The milk and sugar rounds out the flavor so it’s not too spicy. In India, it’s known as masala chai. Masala means “spiced” and chai means “tea” in Hindi. People call the drink “chai tea” in the U.S., but this is incorrect because that translates to “tea tea.”
Ingredient Notes

- Tazo Classic Chai Latte: This is the secret to making the drink taste exactly like the one at Starbucks. The chai concentrate is made with black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and vanilla. The concentrate is sweetened so there’s no need to add sugar.
- Milk: Starbucks makes this drink with 2% milk but you can use any kind of milk you like, including oat and almond.
- Ice: I recommend making the ice using filtered water.
For full ingredients and detailed instructions, please see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Pour chai concentrate and milk into a cup.

Step 2: Add ice.
I add the ice in last so that the drink is perfectly mixed without stirring.
Starbucks Note
The chai concentrate at Starbucks is made with less water so it’s a lot more concentrated and stronger than the packaged Tazo chai concentrate sold in stores. They add extra water to dilute the chai concentrate when making the drink at the store.
