Stardew Valley Creator Confirms Mobile Port To Get… | MobileMatters

Stardew Valley's 1.5 mobile update has been a long time coming, but confirmation has now arrived that it will be released later this year.
Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has largely stepped away from his beloved creation to work on Haunted Chocolatier, his next highly anticipated game, but he knows there's still work to be done on the game that made him famous, with the mobile port of Stardew Valley still without the last major update.
That update came out in late 2020 for PC and a few months later for consoles and introduced a raft of features and new locations such as Ginger Island, a new beach farm, split-screen local co-op, and a tonne of new characters and events.
Now, Barone has taken some time out from building his chocolate shop management simulator to confirm that Stardew Valley 1.5 mobile will soon be a reality.
Stardew Valley Mobile To Get Update To 1.5
In a quick Twitter post, Barone confirmed that the mobile port of Stardew Valley would be getting the 1.5 update before the "end of the year."
"The 1.5 update for mobile is making very good progress," Barone said. "It should be out before the end of the year."

"Mobile players... thanks for your patience."
Barone also fielded a question. When asked if he was working on the mobile port or if development was being headed by a separate entity, he replied that he wasn't "personally" developing the mobile title. "There is a team working on it," he explained.
So, mobile players of Stardew Valley can expect a major update at some point in the next four months, which, while it will be close to two years since it was rolled out on the other versions, will still be greatly appreciated.
The future of Stardew Valley after this is a bit less certain. In a Twitter exchange in late June, Baron confirmed that 1.6 would arrive soon. A "modding-focused update" designed to make modders' lives easier. When asked about a potential 1.7, he simply replied: "Who knows?"
Whatever the case, progress won't be quick. Stardew Valley was initially developed solely by Barone (he has had some help in later years), and his focus is now on Haunted Chocolatier, so any further major updates to Stardew Valley will likely have to wait.
