Story Quest Information: Quest Name: Mayor's "Shorts" Quest Text: Mayor Lewis has lost his purple "shorts". He's asking you to find and return them...Discreetly. Provided by: Mail, Summer 3 Requirements: Find and return Mayor Lewis' purple shorts. Can be found in Marnie's house (her room) Reward: 750g, 1 Friendship heart Stardew Valley “Mayor’s Shorts” Story Quest is another one of the game’s real-world story quest; that feels eerily familiar to the real world. The quest is a little absurd, but it is tons of fun to carry out. The objective of the quest is very simple: “you have to find the Mayor’s missing prize pair of purple shorts”. The Quest is easy and straightforward to complete. Walkthrough The quest will be triggered automatically by a piece of the letter; arriving in the mail from the Mayor. The Mayor demands your help to retrieve a purple short that he seems to have lost. The only clue is that the shorts are purple and they are the mayors favorite. The shorts themselves are relatively easy to locate: they can be found in Marnie’s room. The room is located on the ranch. The farm is situated just south of you. The only problem is; you have to be first friends with Marnie. Friendship with Marnie can be achieved by either completing a quest, but since quest is hard to come by; Option B is to build a friendship by giving Marnie gifts. Bonus Tips: Giving gifts is the easiest way to befriend someone in the game. Marnie especially appreciates the following items: • Food items, particularly Cakes, Corn, and most cooked items • Valuable gems like Diamonds • Eggs gleaned from a Coop • Milk gleaned from a Barn • Flowers Marnie is one of the key individuals in the game, and you will be better served in the long run; by being friends with her. The game only allows you a maximum of two gifts. So give Marnie something special instead of cheap items. Once you have decided on the gift, and have the Gift: The rest is relatively simple. Give the gift to Marnie, find the shorts, and return them to Lewis. Can usually be found in the Mayor’s Manor. The game will reward you handsomely for returning the shorts; you will be 750 gold richer. To collect your reward, you will need to open your journal (This can be done by either pressing J on your keyboard, or by clicking on the exclamation mark below the gold total. Once you are in the Journal, click on the reward at the bottom of your “Mayor’s Shorts” and voila you have completed the quest. Stardew valley quest has a habit of throwing absurdly innovative quests in your way, but that is why the game is so very Fun. Sometimes the absurdity can be off-putting and for some; it can be a very tough challenge to complete a quest. Finding a right person, a right place, or a right thing can be a near-impossible task and the experience of repeating the same thing over and over again without success; can get in the way of enjoying the game.
