People assume that Barkley lied about his height in the opposite direction when in reality he didn’t. He had a measurement on record in his prime of 6’4 5/8” to back it up. I always get a chuckle out of “Conan is 6’4” so Barkley must be 6’5 or 6’5.5” or 6’6”. We’re talking barefoot heights and in many cases Barkley has camera advantage on his contemporaries in pics. Not to mention if I had to choose, I would believe his measurement which was official over someone else’s claim. The other hilarious one is that the pre draft is “official” and Barkley’s measurement wasn’t. Yea we see how that worked out with Merriman and Kyler Murray. And In basketball, JJ Redick still shows a 6’4 pre draft barefoot but he’s listed 6’3” now. Likely he’s 6’2” range. Funny part is I believed he could’ve been near that before with Jamal Crawford.
